Erebuni – Tsitsernakaberd – Matenadaran
During this tour, you will discover both the ancient and modern history of Yerevan — one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world.
The journey begins at Erebuni Fortress and Museum, considered the birthplace of Armenia’s capital. According to an inscription found during excavations, the fortress was founded in 782 BC by King Argishti I. This is where Yerevan’s history begins.
Next, you will visit Matenadaran, the Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, home to some of the world’s rarest manuscripts that reflect over a thousand years of Armenian culture, science, and religion.
The tour concludes at Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex, dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide — one of the most tragic and significant chapters in Armenia’s history.
